Colmer Estate in Devon
All our visitors have free access to the many facilities that are available on the Colmer estate. Remember there are just 20 self catering holiday cottages on the estate, so the facilities are never overcrowded.
The grounds and gardens
The 28 acres of beautiful and peaceful private grounds gives varied habitat that makes Colmer a nature lover's paradise of meadows, woodland and water-meadows. The water gardens and lake attract hundreds of species of birds, butterflies and dragonflies to this holiday spot in South Devon. Badgers have 'sett' up home within the estate and foxes, deer, bats, squirrels, hedgehogs and rabbits can sometimes be spotted.
Indoor pool
The indoor pool is open and heated all year round. There are male, female and disabled changing rooms.

Outdoor pool
The attractive and landscaped pool is heated in the high season and in
May half term. This is also where you will find the table tennis table. There
are tables, chairs and loungers provided around the pool. Please note the pool is not always in use out of mid/high season
Fitness suite
Above the indoor pool is a small fitness gymnasium containing a range of equipment including bicycle, treadmill, rowing machine and bench press with weights.
The Lake
The fishing lake is well stocked for coarse fishing with carp and golden
rudd. A minimum of 3 stands are available throughout the year. You will
need to provide your own rods etc and have the appropriate fishing licence
available from local post offices. Under 14s may fish without a licence. New
for 2006 is a wooden pontoon suitable for a wheelchair. The lake
has been recently dredged and landscaped.
Walled garden
The walled garden is huge. It is a lovely safe area and the only place
where ball games are permitted. There are swings, slide, and a climbing
frame, picnic benches and a boules area. In the high season a football
goal net is erected. It is a safe spot for children to play in.
The games room
This is opposite the walled garden and houses a pool table, video games, sofas and a music centre. This is a good facility for older children.
Woodland adventure playground
This is situated in a clearing in the woods behind the tennis court. There is a climbing net, tyre swings and a balancing pole.

Tennis court
This is an all weather tennis court. The court also has a basket ball net at one end for practicing your shots. There are racquets available for you to borrow, but better players will want to bring their own.

The croquet lawn is in front of Colmer House and the croquet set is kept in the laundry room.
Laundry room
